Supporting sustainable community development
Your generosity can help NHCDA build the partnerships, organizational capacity, and charitable programs needed to support underserved rural communities in Northwest Haiti. We welcome support from individuals, families, businesses, foundations, and others who share our commitment to sustainable community development.
Federal tax-exempt status
NHCDA is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN 42-4241374; public charity classification: Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi); effective July 31, 2026). Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please consult your tax advisor about your own situation.
Online giving
Our online donation form is provided by Zeffy, a donation platform for nonprofits; a PayPal option may be added later. Your payment is made directly on Zeffy's secure form: NHCDA never receives or stores your card details. Until online giving opens, please contact us at info@nhcda.org to make a gift.
How contributions may be used
- Agriculture and food security
- Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
- Community health
- Education and workforce development
- Economic empowerment
- Disaster preparedness and relief
- Reasonable administrative and operational costs supporting NHCDA's charitable purposes
Program implementation depends on community needs, funding, organizational approvals, partnerships, and operational feasibility. NHCDA does not represent proposed activities as completed programs.
Unrestricted and restricted gifts
Unless NHCDA expressly accepts a donor-imposed restriction, gifts are treated as unrestricted contributions for its charitable purposes. Donors who wish to restrict a gift to a particular program or project should contact NHCDA before contributing. NHCDA may decline restrictions that are inconsistent with its mission or cannot be administered responsibly.
Donation records and acknowledgments
NHCDA maintains appropriate charitable contribution records and issues acknowledgments consistent with applicable requirements. For a single contribution of $250 or more, U.S. federal tax rules generally require a contemporaneous written acknowledgment stating whether goods or services were provided in exchange. Certain quid pro quo contributions exceeding $75 require a separate disclosure. Payment-provider receipts may not by themselves satisfy every acknowledgment requirement.
Refund requests
Charitable gifts are intended to support NHCDA's mission and are not ordinary retail purchases. Requests involving duplicate charges, processing errors, unauthorized transactions, or other refund concerns may be sent to info@nhcda.org for review. Any refund depends on applicable law, the circumstances of the transaction, donor restrictions, and payment-provider rules. Refunds are not guaranteed.
Donor privacy
NHCDA uses donor information only for legitimate charitable, administrative, communication, and recordkeeping purposes, and never sells it. The donation platform's own privacy practices and terms also apply to the services it provides. See our Privacy Policy.
